Among those who assisted Stein in this great task, two names stand out, one of Pandit Govind Kaul and other Pandit Mukandram. It was indeed a great testimony for considerable erudition of Kashmiri scholars. Not only Pandit Govind Kaul and Pandit Mukandram Shastri placed the resource of their great learning at the disposal of Stein for the edition of Rajatarangini, he was also to avail himself benefit from the great learning of his friend Pandit Damodar, Head Pandit of the Maharaja’s Pathshala at Srinagar. |
